Pomegranate Baked Pears

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a small pan, combine the pomegranate juice, sugar, 2 balsamics, cinnamon stick and cloves. Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Boil for 1 minute. Arrange the pear halves cut side down in a 9x13” baking dish. Pour the pomegranate syrup over the pears, and place the dish in the oven. Bake for about 45 minutes, basting occasionally, until the pears are tender. Place a pear half in a small bowl and spoon some of the syrup over the top. Serve immediately. (You can also cool, cover, and chill the pears, then serve cold with whipped cream)

Ingredients

1 1/2 C pomegranate juice (POM Wonderful)

1/2 C sugar
4 tsp of The Olive Bin's Lemon Balsamic
4 tsp of The Olive Bin's Pomegranate Balsamic Vinegar

1 cinnamon stick

4 whole cloves
4 firm baking pear, such as D’Angou or Bosc, peeled, cored, and cut in half. (Be sure to use firm, not ripe, pears for this dish)
